Board-certified in orthodontics, Dr. Mike Meru plans to open a practice for children and adults in Farmington, Utah, focusing on braces and retainers, Invisalign, and whitening. Previously Mike Meru, DDS was the co-owner of Alter & Meru in Thousand Oaks, California. He treated patients at Pacific Dental Services and Horsley Orthodontics in Utah.
Dr. Meru learns of new developments as a member of several professional organizations, such as the American Board of Orthodontics, with prior service as a board member of the American College of Dentists. He is also the founder of the Student Professionalism & Ethics Association.
After completing his postsecondary education at Brigham Young University with a BA in public relations, Dr. Meru earned his DDS at the University of Southern California, where he completed his orthodontics residency and gave the commencement address. A finalist for the Carl E. Rieder Scholarship, he won four others and an award from the Society of National Association Publications. He is the webinar editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and has several research articles to his credit.
Dr. Meru’s community service includes extensive work for AYUDA, a service agency for immigrants with low incomes. He has made four trips to Central America and California for the organization and has been a group leader for Doctors Out to Care.
Active in outdoor sports, Dr. Meru enjoys split boarding, snowboarding, and surfing. He lives with his wife and two children in Draper, Utah.
